David Arthur Austin, 25, of North Vernon died at 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Austin was a 1997 graduate of Liberty Christian Academy in Seymour. He worked at Power House Brewing Co.'s Columbus Bar at Columbus as a cook and server for the past five months, and had previously worked at T.J. Max in Columbus.
A vegetarian, Mr. Austin was an advocate for animal rights and a former member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. He was a former member and lead singer of the band, SPLINK. He was an amateur film maker as a partner in creating video clips. He enjoyed poetry and was published on poetry.com.
Born April 18, 1981, in Columbus, he was the son of Mary Austin of North Vernon.
Surviving with his mother are two sons, Miles E. Wilder, of Butlerville, IN and Kurdt D. Austin of Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
